1st BIRTHDAY

I can't believe it, but she really has made it relatively unscathed to her first birthday; it's a miracle. LOL HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY, SKYE!

Getting there with being alone

Last week, I recorded the dogs during two of the days and I was pleased with what I heard - or didn't hear rather. There was hardly any noise from Skye at all, Flash did some barking, but only around 20 minutes on one of th days and around 12 minutes on the other. That's not bad for a 10-hour day! I think the new visiting rota of 1 hour at lunch is working well.

I am also making sure that I have about 10 minutes relaxing time before leaving in the morning so Skye has time to calm down. Emily does the same when she leaves after her visit.

Today, I took Skye to the country park to meet P with her new rescue dog Gipsey. They had a great time and did a lot of running. It was lovely to see.

New routine

Since yesterday, we have switched back to 1 visit a day for Emily, but she is staying for an hour to entertain Skye for a bit. I hope this will work well.

I am not sure how quiet Skye is during the day, I need to tape her again. When I go out for a few hours on a Saturday for example I have taped her and it was perfectly quiet.

However Skye does entertain herself during the day by shredding the memory foam bed or other things in the sitting room. Everything she can't have is moved out of the way, so it's not a problem.

She will be 1 years old this month, but she still has some growing up to do as she is still a real airhead. LOL

CCIS - Canine Crime Investigative Service

The suspect named Skye (a cocker spaniel) strongly denies that she is responsible for the serious assault on the victim (a memory foam dog bed), but CCIS (Canine Crime Investigative Service) has found evidence attached to the suspect in the form of small pieces of memory foam that place her at the crime scene at the time of the assault.

The suspect may also be involved in other currently unsolved crimes as seen in the CCTV photo below. The investigation continues.

Free and out of the kitchen

Earlier this week, Emily called me because Skye had broken down the new baby gate. So I said to just leave her out as it was the last part of the day. When I came home there were just a couple of things on the floor and nothing chewed majorly. So I decided to leave her out all afternoon, which went really well too!

So as from Monday, I think it will be safe to leave her out all day. Her most destructive phase in the kitchen were afternoons, so as they went well, I think it will be ok all day. I have removed everything that she mustn't chew so if she does get hold of something it won't be a major issue!

I am really over the moon with how good she is. I have also taped her this afternoon and although there was a few seconds whining when I went out in the afternoon, that was all on the tape, so she was quiet after that. Yippee!

10-month Birthday!

Skye is 10 months old today! How quickly time flies. She is quite a grown up girl now, well, some of the time anyway. LOL

She has changed so much, grown so much, but still has got a lot more growing up to do of course. But she is such a godsend and I am so glad she landed in my life when she did! Love you lots, crazy puppy!

Nearly 10 months old and some pictures

Skye is doing really well in general, slowly growing up, but still having mad moments! She is currently scared to go into the garden due to some loud bangs during the fire work season whilst she was out there, so she has decided to regress with her house training... never mind, we'll get it sorted again! She isn't worried about fireworks in general and everyone was actually really calm even during the worst of it, so that was good.

She is also much better with staying home alone now. Although she still has her moments (especially at the end of a day I think), she is generally quiet now when I tape her, so I am really happy with that.

I took some pictures on our walk this morning as it was such a beautiful day - together with big brother Jesse, who is now smaller than Skye LOL.
